The China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) is a state-level, international fair approved by the State Council of China, to strengthen the global cooperation of technology and economy. It is held annually in Shenzhen City from October 12 to 17. The first session of CHTF was held in October 1999, and 6 sessions have been held so far. The CHTF is the largest and most important Chinese national fair dealing with the import and export of high technology and hi-tech products.

115 delegations from 42 countries and regions, 62 multi-national companies, 4041exhibitors and more than 543,000 visitors attended the CHTF 2004. Meanwhile, CHTF also draws the attention of the media. As for the CHTF 2004 alone, more than 1200 reporters from 278 media, including the New York Times, BBC, Reuters, CCTV etc., attended the Fair. It has become a focus of all the social circles.

CHTF 2005 will be held from October 12-17, 2005 in Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. Shenzhen is separated from Hong Kong by only a river and is the first Special Economic Zone of China. After over 20 years of development, it has become the city with the highest per capita GDP in mainland China.
