On March 2, 2009, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Hongbo held talks with Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland Sławomir Nowak. Both sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and other issues of common concern.

Wu said the Chinese government attaches importance to developing ties with Poland and is ready to work with it and take the opportunity of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations to push forward bilateral ties based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, and non-interference into each other’s internal affairs.

Nowak reaffirmed that the Polish government adheres to the one-China policy and is ready to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China on politics, economy, trade and culture.
