Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ma Zhaoxu's Remarks on US Congress' Move to Place China in the International Piracy Watch List
2010/05/26

Q: It is reported that the U.S. Congressional International Anti-Piracy Caucus condemned China and some other countries for infringing intellectual property rights and placed them in this year's "2010 International Piracy Watch List." How do you comment?

A: The Chinese Government attaches great importance to the protection of intellectual property rights and has made it a national strategy. Continuous efforts have been made to enhance the system and institution-building of intellectual property rights, improve laws and regulations in the field, strengthen law enforcement and launch special campaigns. The policies we have implemented, the measures we have taken and the effects of our efforts are there for all to see.

Relevant U.S. legislators should respect the fact and stop making groundless accusations of China.
